Araneae: Lycosidae
Lycosidae sp
A Wolf Spider out prowling in the Mallee at night.
Wolf Spiders are easy to find at night when they are out hunting as their eyes reflect a remarkable amount of eyeshine for such little creatures.
I have allocated them a number of species pages based on different patterns on the cephalothorax and/or abdomen but it's possible that some are just colour or sexual differences in the same species.
I have found little documentation available to enable easy identification of many Australian spiders, and Wolf Spiders in particular.
